Terms of use
  • Designed for welding in all spatial positions, low hydrogen basic electrode, particularly suitable for critical applications, responsible structures and pipelines made of carbon and low-alloy steels with a strength limit from 550 (80) - 610 (88) MPa (ksi) requiring exceptional impacts at low temperatures, especially if it is necessary to ensure high resistance of welded joints against cold cracks. This electrode provides a smooth, stable arc with very low spatter. A special graphite tip on the electrode enhances excellent arc starting. The complete slag coverage provides easy removal and minimal post weld cleanup. It complies with the 4 mL/100 g requirement for diffusible hydrogen content in deposited weld metal. Additionally, it is vacuum-packaged to maintain extremely low moisture levels, eliminating the need for expensive re-baking processes.
Special properties
  • special coating prevents moisture absorption, reduces the likelihood of pores and guarantees a low hydrogen content in the joint
  • due to the uniform composition of the electrode coating at work a stable arc is achieved
  • excellent weldability, easy separation of the slag crust, low loss of metal from spattering
  • electrodes do not absorb the moisture from the environment for 10-12 hours after opening the package, thanks to this, they do not require rebaking before use
  • distinguished by the high strength of the metal joint with a special metalurgical purity and low content of hydrogen in the deposited metal
Monolith 7018-1 H4R is designed to be suitable for a broad range of carbon, low alloy, and hardenable steels. It is used for welding of responsible metal structures, boilers and tanks that work under high pressure, as well as in the construction of pipelines, low temperature structural work, in shipbuilding, petrochemical, pressure vessels, power generation. Electrodes are resistant to moisture absorption
